2013 Friends and Family Day
We are pleased to invite you and yours to join us for the 2013 Friends and Family Day on June 8th. For those of you new to the club, Friends and Family Day is a chance for you and yours to find out what all the fuss is about, and to meet some of the coaches and fencers that you don't normally get to see.
We will be offering two 'try fencing' classes aimed at friends and family who are not part of our regular programs in the morning. Friends and family of our youth program fencers will have priority for the first class, and friends and family for our other programs will have priority for the second class, though all are welcome at both classes should space permit. Please note that we only have space for 12 participants in each class, so we strongly advise you to book early to guarantee a spot.
In the afternoon there will be a pot-luck picnic (at the Dundas Driving Park). The address is 71 Cross St, Dundas, Ontario. This sports park houses several softball fields, a band shell, swings, play equipment, and a wading pool We have rented Pavilion Number Four, that comes with a small kitchenette. Washroom facilities and parking are available. We suggest that you pack dry clothes for the ride home for the young at heart as people can sometimes get a little soggy at our picnics. Click here for directions to the park.
The club will provide burgers and hotdogs to munch on, and we strongly encourage everybody else to bring goodies to share (everybody needs to bring their own drinks). There will be sign up sheets posted at the club soon as well as an online form below. Please don't wait until the last minute to sign up as this day typically sells out fast!
The schedule for the day is as follows:
9:00 - 11:00: Try Fencing (Friends and family for youth program fencers have priority)
11:30 - 13:30: Try Fencing (Friends and family for other fencers have priority)
14:00 - 16:00: Potluck Picnic
Try fencing classes cost $20 per person.
The picnic costs $5 per person, or $10 per family.
Please register using the form below, completing a new form for each member participating in the fencing classes. Even if you're only coming for the picnic, please register (one form per family) so that we can try and ensure that we have enough food for everybody.
