Statement of Values

People are our most important resource, and we will look after them well.
We train ‘people’, not ‘fencers’, and recognise the importance of the wider context.
Competitive sport is not always equitable, but no member should feel like they do not get good value. All of our fencers are important.
We value longer term development more than short term success.
Excellence is important in everything that we do.
We recognise that running ongoing quality programs is expensive.
We value a sense of community, and our identity within the wider community.
We value knowledge and learning.
We recognise that practices and lessons are as much a learning opportunity for coaches as for students.
We value appropriate behaviour and good citizenship, from fencers, parents, coaches and staff.
