paying your fees

fees are payable monthly (due by the 6th of each month), or termly for youth programs. other fees are due immediately when you receive an invoice. the club can accept payments by credit card and e-transfers (to westdalefencing[at]gmail[dot]com).

the club reserves the right to charge a $20 per week late fee for those who do not pay in a timely manner.

all fees include HST.

We do not offer refunds for missed classes or ‘make-up’ classes.

annual membership fees

All competitive program fencers are required to pay a club membership fee of $30 / term ($90 / year). Membership is required if you are out for more than 4 practices in a term, and if you wish to receive group or individual lessons. All fencers are also required to have a current membership with the Ontario Fencing Association and a license with the Canadian Fencing Federation, which can be purchased here (if you are not sure which membership you need, please talk to your coach).  a recreational membership presently costs $35 (as of june 2022). Members of the elite and HP programs are expected to fence under WFC at all CFF events. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Head Coach.

program fees

Intro Class: $420 / 7 week block (price includes club membership fee for the term as well as all equipment)

competitive a (monday classes): $60 per class (equipment rental = +$10 per class) / $212 / 252 per month

Competitive b (Thursday classes): $60 per class / $212 per month

competitive c (monday + saturday): $320 per month / $400 per month with equipment (by invitation only)

elite and HP: by special arrangement

Drop-in rate: $60 per class (does not include individual lesson or equipment fees)

youth program fees

winter 2024 term: $525 (price includes club membership fee for the term as well as all equipment)

spring 2024 term: $580 (price includes club membership fee for the term as well as all equipment)

please note that youth fees are calculated based on there being 9 classes for the winter term, and 10 classes for the spring term (please click here for a list of classes).

individual Lesson fees

regular Individual lesson (15 minutes): $30

extended individual lesson (40 minutes): $60

full lesson fees apply for lessons missed with less than 24 hours notice

Extra fees may apply for lessons which take place outside of scheduled practice hours

other fees

First Aid Taping: $5

Fascial Movement Taping: $10 - 25

Equipment Rental: $80 per term, available for fencers enrolled in our ‘learn to fence’ program only, subject to availability.

Monthly rates are calculated based on 4 weeks in each month. This is to allow for any occasional missed or cancelled practices throughout the year. Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances, except when arranged in advance with the club treasurer. Please see this great article which explains why we are not able to offer make-up lessons.

If you are interested in joining our competitive, elite or hp programs, please talk to one of the coaching staff. Note that these are limited enrolment programs and places will be allocated at the sole discretion of the Head Coach. Fencers joining competitive or high performance programs are expected to commit to that program for the entire term.
