paying your fees

fees are payable monthly (due by the 6th of each month), or termly for youth programs. other fees are due immediately when you receive an invoice. the club can accept payments by credit card and e-transfers (to westdalefencing[at]gmail[dot]com). we do not accept cash payments.

the club may charge a $20 per week late fee for those who do not pay in a timely manner.

all fees include HST.

We do not offer refunds for missed classes or ‘make-up’ classes.

annual membership fees

All competitive program fencers are required to pay a club membership fee of $90 / year. Membership is required if you are out for more than 4 practices in a year, and if you wish to receive group or individual lessons. All fencers are also required to have a current membership with the Ontario Fencing Association and a license with the Canadian Fencing Federation, both of which can be purchased here (if you are not sure which membership you need, please talk to your coach).  a recreational membership presently costs $65 (as of june 2026). Members of the advanced competitive program are expected to fence under WFC at all ofa and CFF events. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Head Coach.

program fees

adult learn to fence Class: $250 / month (price includes club membership fee for the term as well as all equipment)

recreational (one early monday or thursday class per week only): $232 (includes use of club equipment) per month

pre-competitive (two classes per week): $300 (all own equipment including electric) / $400 (includes use of club equipment) per month (by invitation only)

competitive (three classes per week): $425 (by invitation only)

advanced competitive (unlimited classes per week): $450 (by invitation only)

Drop-in rate for all programs: $65 per class (does not include individual lesson or equipment fees)

youth program fees

youth program michaelmas 2026 term: $690 (price includes club membership fee for the term as well as all equipment)

youth competitive program michaelmas 2026 term: $1,300 (by invitation only).

please note that youth fees are calculated based on there being 12 classes for the term

individual Lesson fees

regular Individual lesson (15 minutes): $30

extended individual lesson (40 minutes): $60

full lesson fees apply for lessons missed with less than 24 hours notice

Extra fees may apply for lessons which take place outside of scheduled practice hours, or with guest coaches.

If you are interested in joining one of our competitive programs, please talk to one of the coaching staff. Note that these are limited enrollment programs and places will be allocated at the sole discretion of the Head Coach. Fencers joining competitive programs are expected to commit to that program for the entire term.
