Buying Weapons
There are many, many different options when it comes to picking weapons. We recommend the use of FIE blades for all our fencers because they typically last much longer and are much safer for everybody since they are engineered to break in ways that minimise the likelihood of an injury occuring. We require all sabre blades to be S2000 standard for similar reasons (there are no 'FIE' sabre blades any more). Below are a few configurations that we suggest based on the experiences of our fencers and coaches, though we make no guarantees about how long they will last! Please talk to one of the coaches about which might be best for you. Please note that manufacturers frequently change their websites, so if you find that any of the links below are broken, please let one of the coaches know.
